What we collect

Splitfair has no accounts, so we collect the minimum needed to make trips work:

• Trip names and expense details you enter (descriptions, amounts, who paid)
• Member names you add to trips
• Feature requests you submit (your name and description)

We do not collect email addresses, phone numbers, payment information, or location data.

What stays on your device

Your theme preference (light/dark) and your list of visited trips are stored in your browser's local storage. This never leaves your device.

What we don't do

• No analytics, tracking pixels, or session replay
• No advertising, ever
• No selling or sharing your data with third parties
• No cookies beyond what's technically necessary

Third-party services

We fetch currency exchange rates from open.er-api.com (server-side only — no user data is sent). Our hosting provider (Vercel) and database provider (Neon) process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies.

Trip links

Trip pages are accessible to anyone with the link. Only share your trip link with people you trust. There is no password protection by design — the link is the access control.

Data deletion

Anyone with your trip link can request deletion from the trip page (no account needed — the unguessable link is the verification). Deletion has a 7-day grace period: a banner appears on the trip page, and anyone with the link can cancel during that time. After 7 days, all trip data is permanently removed.
